The Only Way Is Essex has reportedly axed newcomers Mia Sully and Hannah Voyan - months after their debut on screen.
Mia and Hannah filmed scenes for the ITVBe reality show this past spring and appeared on screens in August for the latest series.
However, it has been reported that producers felt like the dup weren't 'the right fit' and fans didn't 'connect with them.
A source explained: "Producers had high hopes for Mia and Hannah when they signed them and hoped they would shake up the show, but ultimately, they didn't feel they were the right fit in the end and viewers didn't connect with them either.
"It happens quite a lot with Towie where newcomers come in and it just doesn't work out.
The producers won't be asking Hannah and Mia to return for the next series.
"Bosses decided to cut their losses and start fresh next series," the source added to The Sun.
Mirror have contacted ITV for comment.
Mia and Hannah were originally joined by Pia Grace Smith for Towie but Pia was removed from the series after reportedly vaping on a flight back from the Dominican Republic.
In June, it was said ITV bosses called an emergency meeting with nine of the stars after they were booted from the flight to London.
Pia previously discussed the incident on her Instagram Stories, as she waited at Madrid airport for another flight.
"So, 24 hours later, we’re still not travelling," the unimpressed star told her followers.
She added: "We got chucked off the flight because we didn’t wear masks. There was like half the cast that got chucked off but we’ve had to sit in Madrid airport for 10 hours.

"I’m not going to get back to UK soil until 11.30 so I won’t be home in my bed until 1am."
She concluded, declaring: "This is nuts!"
A spokesperson for Air Europa said there was an 'incident on the flight'.
"Following protocol, several passengers were asked to leave the plane for refusing to wear the mandatory masks and one of them for smoking inside the aircraft," they explained.
"While leaving the plane, they were accompanied by other passengers without further incident."
The reality star's scenes were never shown on the show and Hannah and Mia's scenes from the Dominican Republic were also removed.
