The One Show was thrown into chaos today as Lewis Capaldi swore twice during a segment lasting a matter of minutes.
As the BBC show returned for its weekday evening slot, presenters Alex Jones and Roman Kemp were joined by a string of famous guests.
Chris Packham appeared to discuss climate change and the final episode of Blue Planet II whilst Amanda Holden was only on to talk about the upcoming series of her show, I Can See Your Voice.
Singer Lewis Capaldi also joined the show to perform one of his new tracks. However, things quickly took a turn as Lewis managed to swear twice within just a few seconds of each other, forcing Alex to apologise.
As he sat on the famous sofa, and asked how he felt about the chart success his song has had, he said: "Yeah, I'm chuffed to b***ery! It was nerve-wracking, but it's good to be back, amongst friends, and it's good to be out of the house!"
Talk then quickly turned to the music video for Forget Me, which was inspired by Wham's 1983 video for Club Tropicana. The original video featured Roman's mum Shirlie Kemp and Lewis loved her in the video
"Your mum was in it and she looked b**** good in it, I have to say that!" as Roman begged him: "Please, please stop!"
Alex Jones was quick to apologise for his error as the show was aired at 7pm and way before the watershed, adding: "We have got to say a quick sorry about the language. I'm sorry if anyone was offended."
Following the incident, fans took to Twitter to laugh over what happened, as one wrote: "I’m absolutely going to get #TheOneShow up on iPlayer so I can see @LewisCapaldi saying he’s “chuffed to buggery” live on the bbc pre-watershed! (it’s not even that bad though, come on! Love that they apologised on his behalf)."
A second shared: " #lewiscapaldi is the new Shaun Ryder, can’t be trusted on live TV without swearing #TheOneShow."
"If you got offended by whatever Lewis Capaldi said then just don't watch TV anymore or go out.," a third wrote, with a fourth adding: "You just knew Lewis Capaldi was gonna have to be apologised on behalf of #TheOneShow."
Lewis has had some great chart success recently, joking of his recent number one slot: "I can't thank everyone enough for doing this with me and getting it to this point, even though I did most of the work myself! This one goes out to all of you, the people who love me, and especially to my enemies. May you all perish in flames and know nothing but eternal suffering."
