It's been one week, and the cinemagoing world is still recovering from The Odyssey, the latest movie masterpiece from Christopher Nolan.
After a booming box-office weekend that outdid The Dark Knight Rises, a near-perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, and most importantly, a 5-star rating from us in our The Odyssey review, jaws are still being picked up off the floor over the fact that somehow he did it again.
Now that the dust has settled, though, there's an interesting nugget of information that one keen-eyed viewer has clocked that'll no doubt end up in a pub quiz in the years to come involving its absolutely massive cast.
Editor and writer of The Globe and Mail, Barry Hertz, posted on X the revelation that "The Odyssey is the first Christopher Nolan movie since The Dark Knight to not feature a cast member from The Dark Knight." Yep, we know. Our minds are blown, as well. Has it really taken that long for such a feat to happen?

There are, of course, a handful of familiar stars from other Nolan films that returned to take on the legendary Greek tale with the Oscar-winning filmmaker. Matt Damon, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Elliot Page, fan-favorite Himesh Patel and Bill Irwin have all collaborated with the director in previous projects. None of them, however, were present for Christian Bale and Heath Ledger facing off against one another in the 2008 Batman sequel.
As it stands, the actor who holds the title for most collaborations with Nolan is still Michael Caine, who has worked with the director an incredible eight times. His last appearance was in Tenet as British Intelligence Officer Sir Michael Crosby in 2020.
Speaking of The Dark Knight himself, Nolan was recently asked by The Hollywood Reporter if he'd ever consider teaming up with Bale again for a future project, following the announcement that The Prestige was set for re-release next year.
"Oh, of course. He's one of the great actors of his generation, and I've had tremendous experiences with him," Nolan said. "I'm thrilled that they're going to re-release The Prestige, because it's one of his most underrated performances."
