'The Odyssey' and 'Super Mario Galaxy' Leave Rivals Behind as Universal Tops $4 Billion in 2026

Universal Pictures has become the first studio of 2026 to smash through £3.16 billion ($4 billion) at the global box office, fuelled by the twin successes of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

The milestone, confirmed on Sunday, puts Universal ahead of rival studios for the year on the back of strong international ticket sales.
