Here is The Nottinghamian from Friday, December 2:
Hello,
Welcome to today's edition of the Nottinghamian. In our final newsletter of the week we have a message from a chip shop owner who is set to see his beloved chippy demolished.
There are also a couple of closures unfortunately with a cheesecake shop closing its doors due to the current economic climate and a restaurant in Beeston calling it a day after just seven months. Elsewhere, TV presenter Stacey Dooley has paid a visit to a Notts cafe after visiting the area.
Heartfelt message
A heartbroken chippy owner has issued a message to his supporters after learning his popular Nottinghamshire eatery will be demolished. Bambos Charalambous, 51, and his family have run Blue Circles Fish Bar on Front Street in Arnold since 1990, but it will now be demolished after Gedling Borough Council's planning committee approved his landlord's plans on November 30.
The plan for 135-141 Front Street involves the creation of nine apartments as well as two new ground level shops after the demolition of the four existing shopfronts, two of which are occupied by Blue Circles Fish Bar and Front St Café. Bambos was gutted when the plans came to light a year ago, citing that most of his 15 children had worked in the eatery.
A petition against the plans with 1,735 signatories was received by the planning committee prior to their decision. Bambos has now thanked those who had supported the chippy through a difficult year, and the community his family have served for three decades.

Restaurant closes after just seven months
Around 30 staff have lost their jobs following the shock closure of a Beeston restaurant, just seven months after it opened at the flagship £50million Beeston Square development. One of the workers at Ottimo said he was "heartbroken" by the news which came out of the blue.
Just two days earlier the restaurant - hailed "the perfect escape to Italy right here Beeston" - had revealed its Christmas menu. One of the anchor tenants at the new development, the contemporary style Italian restaurant opened at the end of April.
Located next to the tram stop, the restaurant was beneath the Arc Cinema and soon after opening it was joined by The Beeston Social, an all-day eatery and last night bar. In June it was revealed that dessert cafe Rassam's Creamery would be opening there around the autumn time, but it has yet to.

Recommendation
Name: Slice 'n' Brew
Address: 10 King's Walk, Nottingham NG1 2AE
Cuisine: Freshly made pizza
Just a short walk from the market square in the city centre is a newly opened pizza restaurant which is small in size but full of character. It's still early days for the new pizzeria having only opened its doors in October, but the early signs are extremely promising.
Slice 'n' Brew has a menu with a difference devised by a man with 11 years of experience as a chef in some of Nottingham's best-loved eateries. Fashioning a Neapolitan/New York hybrid pizza, it's owner, Ryon Ishfaq, has gone the extra mile to conjure up imaginative toppings.
There are plenty of options for both meat eaters and veggies with several sizes available from a nine-and-a-half-inch Margherita to a massive 16-inch Detroit style red stripe pizza which includes scotch bonnet honey and a variety of different cheeses. It's well worth a visit this weekend.

Cheesecake shop to close
The current economic climate has take its toll on another of Nottinghamshire's small businesses. Big Mike's Artisan Cheesecake Shop in Carlton will be closing for good on Christmas Eve.
The shop opened on Carlton Hill in November 2020. It was an instant hit, selling out of the mouth-watering goodies every day during the first week. Mike Jones and his partner Jess Graham went on to open a second shop in Beeston in November 2021 but that closed in June this year.
He began making the decadent cheesecakes during lockdown, while furloughed from his job at an Audi garage during the pandemic. Selling them online, he shifted more than 500 within three months, prompting him to quit his job to make cheesecakes his full-time livelihood.
