Liz Truss was grilled over her controversial mini budget this morning by some of the UK's local radio hosts - and she didn't have a perfect answer for all the questions. When asked "where have you been?" by more than one host, the Prime Minister relied on some dependable soundbites (she mentioned Putin, inflation, and fuel bills in each of the eight interviews).
Despite the Bank of England having to step in after the UK Government's policy announcements sent the value of the pound plummeting. But Truss was clear that her government had taken action.
She was very clear, in fact. Between saying she'd "taken action," "taken decisive action," "taken urgent action," and "acted," this soundbite popped up an eye-watering 61 times across interviews with local BBC radio stations ranging from Tees to Bristol.
