Leeds United fans have been toasting the beginning of a new era, as the club confirmed on Friday evening that 49ers Enterprises have finally agreed a deal which will see them complete their protracted takeover of the club.
Whites supporters have been nervously checking their phones and refreshing their browsers as they waited for updates on the club's ownership situation since last month's relegation from the Premier League meant that the original deal that 49ers Enterprises struck with Andrea Radrizzani fell by the wayside.
With a new head coach and a new director of football to appoint ahead of what is likely to be a busy summer in the transfer market, Leeds could ill-afford to drag their feet and continue in a state of limbo, but Friday night's announcement - with further updates promised soon - means that the club can finally start to move forward again.
The short statement released by Leeds read as follows: "Leeds United can confirm an agreement has been reached between Aser Ventures and 49ers Enterprises for the purchase of the club.
