Another round of Covid-19 booster vaccines is being offered to certain groups of people this autumn. The national recommendations come with advice for pregnant women, immunosuppressed people and their households, carers and more.
There will also be a more extensive offer of the free flu vaccine to more people than usual this year. As with Covid-19 boosters, those eligible include the most vulnerable.
The news follows a huge spike in coronavirus infections and hospitalisations across the country. Greater Manchester too has suffered from the skyrocketing figures, with Covid-19 patients taking up around 1,000 of the region's approximately 5,000 hospital beds.
