BBC Good Food has shared the most searched for dishes during the festive period last year as Yorkshire pudding retained its top spot from 2020.
In 2021, those who were hosting opted for several hallmark recipes including a roast turkey crown and eggnog. But there was also a newcomer - or an old returner depending on your perspective - as Marie Rose sauce was the fifth most searched for recipe.
Marie Rose is used to make prawn cocktail, a seventies party classic which appears to have been on the menu for many in 2021.
The food experts also shared their top meals during the run up to the big day as well as the days heading into the New Year.
The top five most searched for recipes on Christmas eve and Christmas day 2021 are:
- Yorkshire pudding
- Red cabbage
- Roast turkey crown
- Eggnog
- Marie Rose sauce
From December 1 to December 23, some highly searched for dishes included tips from the pros, like Merry Berry's recipe for a classic Christmas cake and the Hairy Bikers' recipe for a hearty sausage casserole.
And the days that came after Christmas saw people looking to make the most out of their leftovers.
From Boxing Day to New Year's Eve, leftover turkey and ham pie and turkey curry surged in popularity, while beef bourguignon, pancake breakfasts and delicious bread and butter pudding were also among top picks.
