The 'mystery' of the bump in washing machine doors has been solved

A lot of people will have noticed that washing machines have a huge bump on the doors but no one ever really knows what it is for.

But now the 'mystery' of the bulbous bump have been solved. Appliance repair technician Renae explained the reasons behind the interesting design, reported The Daily Star.

The TikTok user (@renduh) said that there was a simple explanation. While there were several reasons the main one for the bump was to help prevent damage to the washing machine, meaning it helps to save you spending money on costly repairs.
