If there was ever a red carpet to rock a naked dress, it’s the VMAs. The music industry awards night is known for producing an edgy look, with plenty of skin-baring dresses both on and off stage. Here, we look at some of the best naked dresses from the night.

While not ‘naked dress’, per se, it is indeed mostly lingerie. Fancy lingerie, at that. The look was designed by Claire Sullivan, who has also recently dressed Kylie Jenner, Camila Cabello and Chloe Sevigny in her silky designs.
Jazzelle Zanaughtti
Better known online as @uglyworldwide, Jazzelle is a beauty visionary and content creator who has previously modelled for Fenty. For the MTV VMAs, they weren’t afraid to show a little skin in this look by New York brand, SEKS. They also played keys for Halsey’s live performance.
Katy Perry
Although most of Katy is still covered up by this gorgeous skirt by Who Decides War, this look was ‘naked’ enough to have us wondering what body oil Katy has been using.
Tate McRae
It seems Tate McRae is still angling for the leading role in Britney Spears’ biopic, because she paid tribute to Britney’s 2001 VMAs look with this sheer, lace mini dress by Roberto Cavalli.
Tyla
If you’ve got neon underwear, why not flaunt it? Tyla, who caused a stir with her gorgeous look from this year’s Met Gala, has done it again with this rope-y take on the bandage dress.

Dancer and musician Ashlee Keating loves a headline-making fashion moment, and this sheer chain dress is no exception.
Tinashe
This ‘liquid leather’ dress for Tinashe is almost like a second skin, with the gorgeous pop star appearing like she’s almost ‘shedding’ the black Rick Owens gown.
