Lewis Capaldi has been extremely open about his health battles over the last year. He opened up about his Tourette's syndrome diagnosis, partly because he didn't want people to think he was taking drugs, but also so his fans knew the reason why he was sometimes struggling while performing.
The 26-year-old let Netflix filmmakers follow his life for a short while to create an hour long documentary about his Tourette's diagnosis and how it has affected his life. The brutal honesty about how it affects his mental health is something fans rarely get to see from their favourite celebrity.
He shared that honest connection with his fans on Saturday night as he struggled to finish his Glastonbury set while losing his voice. Lewis has previously opened up about how singing and performing escalates his tics, caused by Tourette's, and sometimes makes it hard to perform.

At the end of his set, he said:" Glastonbury, I'm really sorry. I'm a bit annoyed with myself. I feel like I'll be taking another wee break over the next couple of weeks. So you probably won't see much of me for the rest of the year, maybe even. But when I do come back and when I do see you, I hope you're still up for watching us."
Lewis is set to perform at Chepstow next week, and while no announcement has been made yet, it is possible the show there won't be going ahead. You can find out more about what is Tourette's, what causes it and what the symptoms are here.
A few weeks before the Glastonbury set, Lewis sent a moving message to his fans. He admitted that he was "struggling to get to grips with it all", experiencing a physical and mental struggle.
The message posted to his Instagram account said: "Hi everyone, hope you're well. This is a really difficult message, and one that hurts me a lot to have to type, but I'm really sorry to say that I'm going to have to cancel all commitments from now until I play Glastonbury on June 24th.
"It's been such an incredible time leading into this new album, and seeing all of the support from everyone has been beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of. That said, the last few months have been full on both mentally and physically, I haven't been home properly since Christmas and at the moment I'm struggling to get to grips with it all.
"I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all the of the other incredible shows coming up so that I'm able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come. I need to take these three weeks to be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit, spend some time with my family and friends and do normal life things that are an important part of me feeling better. I hope everyone understands.
"I know many of you will have spent money on travel or hotels, which I appreciate more than ever with how difficult things are economically at the moment, so I'm extremely sorry for the impact this will have. The fact you're willing to come out and spend yout time, money and love on these shows is beyond comprehension and I feel incredibly lucky.
"I'm getting all the help and support I need from the incredible people around me who I'm so grateful for. I take none of this for granted and can't wait to be back doing it again. All my love. Lewis x"
