Oliver is the most popular baby name for boys in England and Wales - and has been for some time.
When the most recent lists of top baby names were released by the Office for National Statistics in October 2021, Oliver headed the list for boys for they eight year in a row. The figures showed that 4,225 boys were given the name Oliver by parents in 2020, which was a drop from 4,932 the previous year.
Second on the list was George, which was given to 4,100 baby boys, followed by Arthur and Noah. Muhammad rounded out the top five. Meanwhile Archie, the name given to their son by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2019, entered the top 10 for the first.

Jack is the most popular name for boys north of the border, where the National Records of Scotland released the figures for 2021 in April this year. Jack has been the top boys' name in Scotland for 13 consecutive years. It is followed by Noah in second place, Leo and Oliver.
Jack was also the most popular name in Northern Ireland in 2021. Figures released by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency in April put Noah in second place, followed by James, Charlie and Oliver.
