The most outrageous celebrity Halloween costumes of 2025

Celebrities got into the Halloween spirit this week, unveiling their imaginative — and often high-budget — costumes.

Some stars, like model Heidi Klum, are known specifically for hosting high-profile Halloween parties, with pictures often going viral the next day.

Klum’s annual New York City bash always features a star-studded guest list and showcases costumes she spends years planning in advance, with this year being no exception. The America’s Got Talent judge is celebrated for her show-stopping Halloween costumes every year, from her Jessica Rabbit in 2015 to one of the werewolves from Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” music video in 2017.

This year, her costume was revealed to be Medusa, featuring snakes in place of her hair and a rattlesnake tail. Klum posted a video to her Instagram of the depiction, with the caption: “HAPPY HEIDIWEEN 🐍Don’t stare too long or you’ll turn to stone 🖤 #HeidiHalloween.”

Medusa, in Greek mythology, was known for her petrifying effect on beholders, and those looking at her face were instantly turned to stone, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica.

The Kardashians have also become known for their over-the-top Halloween looks, with the family consistently embracing the holiday’s flair for the dramatic — from Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s spot-on Morticia and Gomez Addams costumes to Kendall Jenner’s tongue-in-cheek cucumber outfit.

While some celebrities might not have planned as elaborately as the so-called “Queens of Halloween,” here are the most outrageous Halloween costumes seen so far.

Heidi Klum

The Project Runway host was pictured dressing as the snake-haired Greek Gorgon Medusa, wearing elaborate make-up and prosthetics to achieve the look for her annual party.

Musician Tom Kaulitz, who is Klum’s husband, completed the couple’s costume by dressing as a man who had been turned to stone by Medusa’s gaze.

Ice-T and Coco Austin

The rapper and his wife arrived at Klum’s annual Halloween party on Friday night. Ice-T was seen in a red bodysuit, holding a bloodied cleaver. His wife, Austin, meanwhile, dressed as a costume that riffs on the doll from the horror film Chucky.

Ed Sheeran

The singer showed off his killer costume on Instagram, channeling Pennywise the clown from the IT movies. Sheeran posted clips of himself wearing the clown look while doing everyday tasks, including drinking espresso and going out for a pint.

Julia Fox

Julia Fox dressed up as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the wife of former President John F. Kennedy, at The Cursed Amulet Halloween party in New York City Thursday. The actor, 35, wore a powder pink blazer with a navy trim, a matching skirt, a pillow box hat, and white gloves.

Fox recreated the same outfit Jackie wore when John was fatally shot in 1963 while riding the presidential motorcade in Dallas. The actor’s pink look was covered in fake blood stains, since Jackie refused to change out of her clothes after her husband was shot.

The model’s costume also sparked immense outrage online, with people deeming it “insensitive” and “evil.” However, Fox later hit back, writing on Instagram that she wore the costume to honor Jackie’s “act of extraordinary bravery” when she didn’t change her clothes after John was shot.

“It was performance, protest, and mourning all at once. A woman weaponizing image and grace to expose brutality. It’s about trauma, power, and how femininity itself is a form of resistance,” the Uncut Gems star wrote. “Long live Jackie O.”

Lizzo

Lizzo is dressing up as everyone’s favorite food: Cheese. But not just any type of cheese. She was specifically a fried mozzarella stick from the beloved restaurant chain, Chili’s.

The 37-year-old shared pictures of her Halloween costume on Instagram, wearing a cream colored off-the-shoulder dress, which looked like a piece of cheese dripping out of a mozzarella stick. She also had a fake piece of fried mozzarella attached to her back.

Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager

The two Today hosts arrived at work Friday as fashion icons: Former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and The Devil Wears Prada character Miranda Priestley, portrayed in the hit film by Meryl Streep.

Jenna Bush Hager dressed up as Wintour, wearing a multi-colored floral dress and gold statement necklaces. She also wore Wintour’s signature accessory, black sunglasses, and had the designer’s classic bob haircut with bangs.

To dress up as powerful magazine editor Miranda Priestley, a character rumored to be based on Wintour, Savannah Guthrie wore a black faux-fur coat, a purple long-sleeved dress, a black belt, and red heels. She also had Priestley’s signature hairstyle, wearing an icy blonde, short-haired wig.

James Charles

For Halloween this year, James Charles dressed up as the antagonist and witch, Aunt Gladys, in the hit horror film Weapons, which came out in August. In the movie, Gladys is responsible for the disappearance of 17 children from Maybrook Elementary School.

Charles wore a red cardigan and matching sweatpants, and a pink shirt, with accessories including a diamond necklace and glasses, also opting for Gladys’ bright red, smudged lipstick, a red curly-haired wig, long earrings, and red nails.

Demi Lovato

The “Heart Attack” singer used Halloween to bring out her alter/ego “Poot,” shown on both Instagram and TikTok. Poot Lovato is a viral meme from 2015 after a fan posted a washed-out photo of Demi on Tumblr, joking that it was her secret twin sister who’d been “locked in a basement her whole life.” She admitted to feeling offended by the photo at the time, only to later find out it was edited.

Her costume features a white T-shirt in very bright lighting, with her hair made to look like the comb-over pixie cut in the original photo.

Jade Thirwall

Little Mix’s Jade Thirwall appeared unrecognizable as she revealed her Halloween costume Friday.

The pop star posted a video on Instagram on showing off her Gremlin outfit, which involved full green body paint and prosthetics.

Thirwell appears to be a bridal character from the 1990 movie Gremlins 2.

“Greta really felt this one,” she captioned the post.

Paris Hilton

The socialite donned Britney Spears’s iconic red latex jumpsuit from her “Oops!...I Did It Again” music video, which she showed off on Instagram, complete with the slick hairstyle and large oversized sunglasses that made her look exactly like the “Toxic” singer.

Janelle Monáe

After twinning with Klum as E.T. last year, the singer returned with another cinematic choice — Beetlejuice, the ghost whose name is better left unsaid.

Monáe also showed off a completely different costume during Wednesday’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, dressed as the popular Dr. Seuss character, The Cat in the Hat.

Bowen Yang

The SNL star went for an unexpected choice this year, transforming into Tingle from The Legend of Zelda — the eccentric, middle-aged mapmaker desperate to become a fairy.

Keke Palmer

The One of Them Days actor recreated a dance scene as Honey Daniels from the 2003 movie, Honey. She embodied Jessica Alba’s character in the film, wearing camouflage cargo pants, an orange bralette, and a matching long-sleeve crop.

Quenlin Blackwell

The comedian and influencer copied one of her favorite memes of the year, the headphone lady, complete with swirling butterflies and a crying look on her face.
