The Biggest TV Cancellations And Renewals In April 2026, Including Gen V And Will Trent

Will Trent looking cautious in Season 4 of Will Trent on ABC.

We're heading into finale season on the 2026 TV schedule is about to wrap, and we’ll no doubt see plenty of cancellations and renewals announcements as we have in past years. April 2026 wasn't quite as detrimental as it could have been, but there are definitely losses that still sting, as well as new season orders still worth celebrating.

April 2026 TV Cancellations

The full gamut is on display here, with fully confirmed cancellations hitting some shows before their current seasons wrapped and others that haven’t aired in months, as well as unconfirmed final season reports from certain creators and stars. Lower down, we'll also list all of the major TV renewals that were made public in the last month. Huzzah!

Law & Order: Organized Crime (Peacock) - Canceled After Five Seasons

Final Episode Date: June 12, 2025

Fans waited so, so long to learn about the fate of the Elliot Stabler-fronted spinoff, holding out hope throughout the months even when it looked most dire. In the end, Peacock pulled the plug on the Law & Order offshoot after just a single season as a streaming exclusive. It won't likely get picked up again at its original NBC home, but fans are hoping to see Christopher Meloni popping back up in the next season of SVU.

Gen V (Prime Video) - Canceled After 2 Seasons

Final Episode Date: October 22, 2025

The hyper-bloody second season of The Boys' first live-action spinoff was somewhat marred by the death of star Chance Perdomo in 2024, and even though the creative team continued building out the complicated stories for Jaz Sinclair's Marie Moreau & Co., while introducing Hamish Linklater as a captivating new antagonist, Prime Video closed the doors on Godolkin High to focus on the upcoming Vought Rising and other spinoffs.

Hazbin Hotel (Prime Video) - Ending After 5 Seasons

Final Episode Date: TBA

Hazbin Hotel's final season news may be the least distressing of any noted in this article, since Prime Video still has yet to release the already ordered Seasons 3 and 4. So really, it's almost comforting to know that creator Vivienne Medrano is getting all the time she and the rest of the creative team needs to close this freaky and funky musical comedy out with a bang whenever Season 5 actually hits streaming.

The Runarounds (Prime Video) - Canceled After 1 Season

Final Episode Date: September 1, 2025

Outer Banks' creative team tried to make YA lightning strike twice with the rock band-fueled dramedy The Runarounds, co-starring creator Jonas Pate's daughter Lilah. Unfortunately, the show didn't make nearly as much noise as any actual garage bands make, and despite garnering some favorable reactions from the viewers who did tune in, Prime Video decided not to opt for a sophomore album.

From (MGM+) - Canceled After 5 Seasons

Final Episode Date: TBA

Non-anthology horror series don't usually go more than a few seasons, but Harold Perrineau's Boyd Stevens and the various creepy AF entities are out here proving that MGM+'s From is here to stay. Well, at least for one more season. Audiences only just returned to the Township for Season 4 in mid-April, and the streaming service confirmed that creator John Griffin and the writing team will have more than enough time to stick the landing. Just like we had those visions about.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place (Disney+) - Canceled After 3 Seasons

Final Episode Date: TBA

Disney's revival/reboot of Wizards of Waverly Place has seemingly been a success with both critics and viewers across the first two seasons, but the studio announced in early April that a four-episode third season was ordered to follow up on the shocking Season 2 finale, and that it would serve as the final season. Whatever the reasoning for the early end, franchise star Selena Gomez will be returning both on-screen and behind the camera for her directorial debut.

The Copenhagen Test (Peacock) - Canceled After 1 Season

Final Episode Date: December 27, 2025

One might have thought a sci-fi spy series starring Melissa Barrera and Simu Liu had the potential to be a go-to hit for Peacock, and despite it being unceremoniously jammed into the TV-deadzone week between Christmas and New Years, the show did make it onto the Top 10 streaming shows that week. That was its only showing, however, and Peacock dropped the cancellation news earlier in the month.
