The message won't change for Annagh United insists Ciaran McGurgan

Annagh United may only be 90 minutes away from Premiership football but boss Ciaran McGurgan says the message will not change ahead of tonight's crucial second leg against Dungannon Swifts.

McGurgan's men produced a phenomenal performance to battle back from conceding an early goal to seal a 2-1 win.

The Annagh boss is hoping for a similar effort from his charges at Stangmore Park this evening but he also wants them to enjoy the experience of being on the cusp of top-flight football for the very first time.

"The team talk won't change," said McGurgan.

"It will be about asking the players to give us as much as they can for as long as they can and then we will use what we can off the bench.

"As I've said before, I would love to get promoted for a couple of men at this football club.

"I think we will just go to Stangmore Park and enjoy it. What we wanted was to stay in the tie for Thursday night and see where it takes us.

"It'll be a tough ask because of the budgets and everything else in the Premiership but if the opportunity is there, we will go and enjoy it.

"Thursday night will be slightly different in terms of pressure but it'll be more on them as they are the Premiership team."

Craig Taylor's stunning winner was fit to win any game and McGurgan was full of praise for his match winner and his teammates.

"Craig was absolutely superb and he has that in the locker," he said.

"I told him at half-time that he needed to get more shots away and it worked.

"He put it right in the top corner and fair play to him as it was a great goal.

"It was an unbelievable effort from the boys.

"Especially when you factor in fitness and the lack of squad depth, it was always going to be the killer.

"The players emptied the tank for us and we got the rewards for it.

"Our 'keeper Joel Little made a superb save at the end, I thought it was wide but he must have got a fingertip to it.

"Stephen Murray missed a good chance in the first-half and it would have made things a bit easier, but we are only half way there.

"It was a brilliant performance all over. I thought we thoroughly deserved the win."

Despite their Premiership status hanging in the balance, Swifts boss Dean Shiels insisted now is not the time for panic.

"It's only half-time, there's no panic, there's loads and loads of time left in this tie," he said.

"We're still very confident about getting the job finished."
