The Masked Singer's Stephen Hendry fined by snooker bosses over ITV appearance

Stephen Hendry has revealed he was fined by snooker bosses after pulling out of events due to film scenes for The Masked Singer.

The 54-year-old Scottish player, who is a former world champion, was revealed as the character Rubbish on the ITV celebrity singing show on Saturday.

After being 'outed', Hendry has opened up about the lengths he went to in order to keep his link to the show a secret, including pulling out of a number of official events that left him being slapped by numerous fines.

Asked by the PA news agency what he told people he was doing while masquerading as Rubbish, Hendry said: “I do have wildcards to play in some snooker events and I actually pulled out of a couple of events and got fined by the WPBSA (World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association) for doing it.
