The Masked Singer's Knitting and Otter both unmasked in shock double celeb elimination

The Masked Singer returned to our TV screens on Saturday night and there was a double elimination ahead of the semi-final next weekend.

Claire Richards form Steps was revealed as Knitting, as panelist Mo Gilligan, Rita Ora, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross were joined by celebrity guests as they try to work out who were behind the masks.

Elsewhere on the ITV programme, This Country star Daisy May Cooper was unmasked as Otter.

Speaking after she removed her mask, Claire said: "I put a lot of thought into it [her clues] because I am actually a massive, massive fan of this show. I feel like a fan who has won a competition"

Host Joel Dommett asked: "Is it what you expected?" Claire replied: "Yes, it is. It's just been amazing... I've loved it."

Asked what she thought her kids would say, Claire added: "I hope they're going to be surprised and happy. My son might be a little bit mortified."

Many of those watching at home were left very surprised when they discovered who was behind the masks, with one person saying: "LOVE LOVE LOVE Claire, but did not expect it to be her #maskedsinger" Another added: "Wow........ Claire Richards.... that was surprise #maskedsinger"

Daisy, who won a Best Female Comedy Performance Bafta in 2018 for her role as Kerry Mucklowe in This Country, told Dom: "Oh I've loved it. I mean I am exhausted and absolutely relieved.

"But I've loved every single second of it, and I've done this for my daughter Pip who's a massive fan of the show." She then joked: "And I needed the cash."

It means that there are just five celebrities left in the competition which comes to an end later this month.
