The Masked Singer Mushroom's 'modryb' clue proves it is Charlotte Church

Plenty of fans have already decided the celebrity behind Mushroom must be Charlotte Church. And the Welsh singer seemed to all but confirm it in the final tonight.

After a spell-binding performance which the panel almost unanimously decided it must be the Welsh songstress the final clue has proven it can only be the Crazy Chick singer. Speaking in northern accent, which many have decided is a red herring, Mushroom said they once stole the show from their 'modryb'.

For those who don't know Welsh, or had to Google it, 'modryb' is Welsh for aunt. Back in the 1990s Charlotte's big break came from a talent how in which she was supposed to be introducing her aunt.

Instead of simply introducing her Aunt Caroline on the Big Big Talent Show Charlotte spontaneously sang Pie Jesus and thus a star was born.

Of course fans and bookies have already decided the singer has been hiding in the Mushroom costume, with odds being slashed on Friday night. But fans will have to wait a little longer to find out with 100 per cent certainty who is behind the mask, but we know where we're putting out money.
