The Masked Singer final eight: All the clues that hint at stars behind the crazy costumes

Masked Singer fans say you can’t pull the wool over their eyes.

But that’s what Knitting and seven other acts will try to do on the ITV show this weekend. The celebs revealed so far are Chris Kamara, Lulu, Martin and Shirley Kemp, and Stephen Hendry. Snookered on who’s left? Read our hints.

FAWN

Fawn’s top brew is a tea with five sugars – one of the Sugababes perhaps?

In her video the sweet deer was having make-up applied by a woman wearing a “Sandy” necklace.

Fawn admitted to being “awkward” when she was young but not anymore.

The contestant also revealed she had a passion for maths that she said “helped me to win later in life”.

She said: “Forest, but it was in a topsy-turvy land that I discovered a very heavy, silvery-white metal,” which may be a hint she’s had a platinum album before.

Fawn carried a wicker picnic basket with a bowling pin sticking out of it. She also had scones topped with marmalade before pointing to a trunk that’s labelled “precious cargo”.

RIDDLE: “I live in a cottage and not in a palace. I visited Wonderland but my name’s not Alice.”

JUDGES’ GUESSES: Mel C, Hannah Waddingham, Anne-Marie, Danni Minogue, Jacquline Jossa.

OTTER

Otter describes herself as being able to 'thrive in places that others couldn't' (ITV)
Judges wonder if she could be Catherine Tate (PA)

In a water park, Otter admitted they are “curious”, “naughty” and “playful” as well as able to “thrive in places that others couldn’t”.

A sign, which read ‘“Rules and Diving Advice”, could suggest drama school RADA, and the rescue ring by the side of the pool had a shamrock on it.

From the lost property box, Otter pulled out a witch’s hat, a fake witch’s nose and a broomstick – maybe a hint to Harry Potter – and a police hat sat atop the fence. French fries next to a receipt that said “Kim K” were also featured.

Declaring that “you might remember me from something a little bit medical sounding”, Otter said that they’re good at drawing a certain emotion out of people – maybe a comedian?

RIDDLE: “Children, some say, should be seen and not heard. But of this otter, I’d say, opposite is the word.”

JUDGES’ GUESSES: Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fiona Shaw, Catherine Tate, Zoe Wanamaker.

PHOENIX

Stephen Mulhern and Jason Statham are among the guesses for Pheonix (ITV)

Phoenix was shown walking around a grand castle, surrounded by coats of arms, suits of armour and feathers with an overall mediaeval vibe.

Announcing “‘I am rather hot aren’t I? We all know the legend, the Phoenix,’ and proclaiming his familiarity with “reincarnation”, he could be alluding to his own career that he may have rebuilt or a character he has played that arose from the ashes.

There was also a football hidden in the shrubs and two sticks of rock laid in a criss cross.

Admitting that he “never set out to tread the boards”, he has found himself doing so.

RIDDLE: I’m all flame and fire, my feathers ablaze, it may intrigue you to learn, I’ve been a catchphrase’.

JUDGES GUESSES: Jason Statham, Stephen Mulhern, Robbie Williams, David Tennant, Mick Hucknell.

JACKET POTATO

Jacket Potato describes himself as 'sweet potato' (Matt Frost/ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Jacket Potato’s video was full of funky, disco themes and he admitted to being “occasionally baked”, but his American accent could be fake.

The self-labelled “sweet potato” confessed he is “no angel” and at one point was reading Romeo and Juliet. He pulled a number of phrases from a jar labelled Name That Potato, including: Stinky Ears, Nosey Parker, Silly Billy, Pig Face, and Dog Nose.

He said he was “tough skinned” yet able to “express a whole host of emotions”, so is he a talk show host?

He played a piano with a stethoscope lying on top of it, recalled having to attend “auditions” and declared that “some mega famous people have looked to me to make them look good”.

RIDDLE: Hey it’s me Jack, Jacket Potato. I’ve got quite the collection, so big, you’ll say “woah’’.

JUDGES’ GUESSES : Sean Paul, David Dickinson, Mickey Rourke, Brian Cox, Gino D’Acampo

JELLYFISH

Could Jellyfish be Michelle Keegan or Michelle Visage? (ITV)

Jellyfish pranced around on a beach and a sign that read “How low can you Goa” – a connection to India?

Driftwood arranged into the words “Me” and “Shell” perhaps alluded to a name – Michelle?

Confessing she was the “unexpected winner” of a competition, she said: “I am all about the love.”

Jellyfish alluded that she might have been in a group but now has a solo career. Crystals labelled “good magic” could suggest she is spiritual and the words “Alter Ego” were written backwards on a hut.

RIDDLE: “Give me good vibes only, that’s a great salutation. Let’s love, not hate, like a funny animation.”

JUDGES’ GUESSES : Alexandra Burke, Michelle Keegan, Michelle Visage, Leigh-Anne Pinnock,
Halle Bailey

KNITTING

Jane Horrocks and Kym Marsh have been suggested for Knitting (ITV)

Knitting seems to have a Lancaster accent and bunting on the wall saying “‘Knitting” and ”Morning” suggested she could be a breakfast TV host.

Her admission that she can sometimes be “a little bit crafty” could mean she is a creative person.

Knitting confessed she has “never been trained in something she is very well known for”. A plate of heart shaped cookies, one broken, suggested this skill could be baking. Or she has suffered heartbreak.

Five piles of wool were each numbered in the order three, five, two, one and five.

RIDDLE : “Knitting is easy, it’s the crossing of sticks. Count all of your stitches, there should be 26.”

JUDGES GUESSES: Jane Horrocks, Kym Marsh, Samantha Barks, AJ Odudu.

RHINO

Rhino says he's a 'fun kind of fella' (ITV)

Rhino was seen strutting around in a town called ‘Cobalt’, of which he claims to be “the authority”, but he also admits to being a “fun kind of fella”.

Three wooden arrows mounted on the wall point downwards and a list entitled ‘Town Crimes’ cites two ‘Bad Jokes’ as an offence.

Other visual clues include a sign saying “Home, 19,9000 km”, a mini Statue of Liberty next to a bright red apple and a pair of round, gold glasses.

Rhino alludes to having been the “odd one out” before and said he knows how it feels to be “out on the plains” alone.

Rhino’s admission that he has “never been one to charge into a citation” despite his hard exterior but that he has a natural ability to “break through”.

RIDDLE: ‘I’m chief of this town, and happy go lucky, but one of you guys might think I ‘m quite muggy’

JUDGES GUESSES: Tom Evans, Joe Jonas, James Aurthur, Freffie Flintoff, Russel Brand, James Blunt, Anthony Edwards

PIGEON

Might she be reality star Gemma Collins? (Dave Benett/Getty Images)

Walking around London and pulling along a shopping trolley, Pigeon has a strong Essex accent and owned up to having “ruffled some feathers in my time” but also remains “unflappable”.

Stopping in front of the national gallery at one point and then again in front of a doorman that said “home is where the heart is”, Pigeon revealed that “ageing has never bothered” her, although her voice sounded young, and that she is “able to ask the tougher questions”.

Throwing pieces of bread into the air, they landed on the ground in the shape of the word ‘Title” and a jewellery box full of gold bangles and pearls sat on top of her tartan pulley case.

Pigeon said: “As a chick, I got used to giving speeches, so I’m comfortable with public speaking”.

RIDDLE: I’m an old pigeon mama and I’ve such a warm heart, let me share some of my wisdom - life imitates art.

JUDGES GUESSES: Gemma Collins, Maya Jama, Emily Atack.
