Peter Crouch joins The Masked Dancer panel as it returns for a second series on Saturday.
Standing in for comic Mo Gilligan, he will appear alongside Oti Mabusi, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and host Joel Dommett.
And their task is tougher than ever. Here’s their take…
Peter Crouch
Former footballer Peter Crouch, 41, says: “I played for England and Liverpool – in cup finals, in the Premier League and in World Cups. But the only thing my kids want to talk to me about is The Masked Dancer.
“They came and watched one of the shows and absolutely loved it and it’s all they’ve talked about since. They are just so proud of me, which is great. It’s more mad than I thought it would be and more secretive.
“Oti and I are quite competitive and it’s sort of taken over my life.
“But the clues are so hard. Even some of the ones unmasked, I think back to the clues and try to see how they relate to that person.”
Jonathan Ross
Chat-show king Jonathan Ross, 61, says: “The people under the masks are even more impressive this time.
“There is one who had the panel stumped and one I think someone should definitely have guessed.
“Peter Crouch is so lovely to work with and very funny. We do make him do the robot – a lot.”
Davina McCall
TV presenter Davina McCall, 54, says: “Oti and I message all of the time; she sent me random pictures of people and asked ‘same body shape as…?’ We’re just literally clutching at straws. I’ve spent weeks trying to work out whether some of the characters are male or female. Who knows? Everyone gives it 100%.”
Oti Mabuse
Former Strictly star Oti Mabuse, 32, says: “It’s really nice not to be the new person. Peter’s been brilliant.
“He hears one clue and just goes down a rabbit hole, but it’s a brilliant rabbit hole. His knowledge is incredible. For me, the reveal is my favourite part. There have been some where my jaw has dropped.
“Viewers will be shocked. There was one where I literally didn’t speak because I was so gobsmacked.”
Joel Dommett
The show’s host Joel Dommett, 37, says: “I think the names are bigger and better than ever this series. There’s more clues and more dancing.
“I do think that Pearly King is my absolute favourite. He isn’t the best dancer by a country mile but he courts the audience. He’s embracing it and really enjoying it and I think that can get you really far.
“I also really like Scissors… and Onomatopoeia is a great dancer.”
