The Marvels: Release date, cast, trailer and everything you need to know

Marvel has released the trailer for yet another superhero blockbuster, rounding off the 2023 slate for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Set for release later this year, The Marvels is the sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel and will also continue the story of last year’s Disney+ series Ms. Marvel.

From Candyman director Nia DaCosta, the film will mark the third film the MCU’s Phase Five, following Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It will also follow the Disney+ series Secret Invasion, set to drop on the streaming service on July 21.

The Marvels unites a trio of superpowered females on a cosmic adventure and will explore the dynamic between the three heroes. In a 2022 interview with Uproxx, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson described her latest adventure as “bonkers.”
