Miami designers Ray and Eilyn Jiménez have become true TV stars. After making a splash on Netflix and HGTV, they now lead the Spanish version of Divided By Design,' Hasta Que El Diseño No Separe,' which airs on Discovery Familia.
As if that weren't enough, they announced new episodes arriving in January 2025.
Their on-screen chemistry—fun and intense—is even more evident in interviews, like our recent chat with them for Latin Times, The Jiménez duo is highly talented, knowledgeable, competitive, interesting, and generous in sharing home decor tips.
Like many Miami residents, Eilyn and Ray are bilingual, switching seamlessly between Spanish and English—often using both simultaneously. Like many married couples, they can agree and disagree almost simultaneously, adding to their charm and helping them connect with viewers.
The show puts them in friendly competition. The homeowner they are helping chooses one of their designs, and the audience wins. So do reporters who get exclusive tips for readers—and even their homes. You can see all this in the video below, but first, here are their thoughts on the latest interior design trends and, above all, what NOT to do if you want a stylish home.
Current Interior Design Trends
- Mixing metals: "Choosing just one limits you from adding other elements, meaning the space never evolves."
- Floor-length curtains: "They should at least touch the floor, but ideally, have an extra inch. It looks very elegant."
- Timeless pieces: Add interest with unexpected items like a unique chair to create intrigue.
Home Decor Don'ts
- Over-matching everything: "The best homes balance beauty, personality, and functionality." Furniture sets don't achieve this, they believe.
- All-white kitchens: "No more. Today we want spaces that feel warm and inviting."
- Gray tones: "They only work with concrete now. Enough already!"
To learn more, catch them on Discovery Familia in Spanish. The show also streams on Max, and new episodes will be available in January.
In the meantime, here they are—fabulous as ever.
