The Mall at Cribbs Causeway to open five new stores including Mango and The Works

A host of new stores are set to open at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway including a number of major high street brands, it has been announced. The five retailers are opening branches at the shopping after signing contracts for space at the site.

The brands, which will be taking a combined area of 13,607 sq ft at The Mall, will join more than 150 shops and restaurants already operating from the centre. Alongside the new arrivals, jewellers F.Hinds has signed a six-year lease renewal for its 1,449 sq ft unit.

The announcement comes off the back of more 30,000 sq ft of new occupational deals over the last 12 months, including the arrival of Kurt Geiger, Carvela, Tommy Hilfiger and Harrods' beauty store H Beauty. “These new lettings demonstrate the strength of large regional retail and leisure centres in strategic, accessible locations," said Simon Green, portfolio director at M&G Real Estate, which co-owns The Mall along with Intu and JT Baylis.

"It is important to have secured these new signings ahead of what will be a busy period for the centre, ensuring we have a retail line-up which gives customers the widest choice possible." Here, we take a look at the new stores that are set to open - or have already opened....

The Entertainer

The Entertainer (The Entertainer)

High Street toy chain The Entertainer opened at the weekend. Occupying a 3,788 sq ft unit on the upper level of Cribbs Mall on a 10-year lease, The Entertainer is the UK’s largest independent toy retailer with more than 170 stores across the country. It offers a wide range of toys for children and ‘big kids’ and will be trading in the run up to Christmas.

Mango

Spanish fashion brand Mango will be taking a 10-year lease on the 3,858 sq ft former Gap unit (with a 2,104 sq ft mezzanine) located in between the Apple and Sky stores towards the centre of Cribbs Mall. Since its launch in 1984, it has grown to be one of the leading fashion groups in the world, offering more than 18,000 garments and accessories for men and women across an extensive store network in 110 countries. The opening date for the store is yet to be announced.

Rituals

Rituals Cosmetics store on High Street Kensington (Birmingham Mail)

Beauty specialists Rituals will occupy an 1,802 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease. It will be Rituals first store in the West Country and will provide shoppers with a range of gifts including fragrances and body care. The store will open on November 10.

The Works

With more than 500 stores across the UK and Ireland, The Works provides arts and crafts supplies, books, and stationery as well as toys and games for all the family. The move to Cribbs Mall is the latest in its ongoing expansion and will see it occupier a 2,366 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease. The opening date is yet to be announced.

Suit Direct

Suit Direct is one of the fastest-growing suit retailers in the UK and has signed a five-year lease for a 1,793 sq ft unit. The retailer’s new store (opening date still to be announced) will provide deals on suits, formalwear, casualwear and accessories from some of the UK’s leading designers with a comprehensive range of fits including big and tall sizes across a range of brands.

"We are excited to be part of the wider growth of the Cribbs Causeway area which will include thousands of new homes and a new arena at YTL’s Filton Airfield development, as well as the arrival of Bristol Zoo who will be moving to the nearby Wild Place Project. All of this will help to further strengthen footfall across Cribbs Causeway and continue to make it an attractive home for retailers," added Mr Green.

Over the last 12 months, a number of major retailers have opened at The Mall, including luxury watchmakers Bremont and growing retailers ProCook and Ribble Cycles, which have used Cribbs to grow their physical retail presence. The shopping centre has also strengthened its food and drink offer following leases with restaurant brands Slim Chickens and Itsu over the period as well.
