Malik Tillman's chance at a permanent transfer to Rangers could be taken out of his and the Ibrox club's hands.
That is due to ongoing 'drama' at parent club Bayern Munich as USA coach Eric Wynalda revealed current contract disputes with the likes of top stars Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane could mean Tillman returns to Germany. The youngster has been a key part of Michael Beale's squad this season and the Ibrox gaffer made it no secret he was keen to make his loan a permanent move.
Tillman also admits he has enjoyed life in Glasgow, but with a potential £5million fee required to secure his services, Wynalda reckons the Bundesliga giants might want to keep the starlet. He insists the point of the loan move wasn't due to Bayern not 'wanting' Tillman but rather that he wasn't a necessary part of their squad.
This is being considered as a key factor, therefore due to Sane and Gnabry both being left out of the squad due to disciplinary breaches, with transfers for both being weighed up in the summer.
He told The Action Network's Wondergoal Podcast: "Malik Tillman has some big decisions to make. The main reason why Bayern might be asking for his services would be the drama unfolding with Gnabry and Sane, who are also experiencing their own should I stay or should I go situation.
"The point of the loan was never that Bayern didn’t want him. It was more that they didn't need him when they decided to loan him out. His performances at Rangers have been very good and Bayern have been keeping a close eye on his progress.
"At the time of the original loan Rangers was really the only landing spot that made sense. Because he has truly proven himself now there are multiple teams that would take a very serious look at him on a permanent move. His price tag has certainly gone up."
