The Grove in Narberth, Pembrokeshire, has once again been recognised as one of the UK's best places to stay, appearing in a list of the Top 50 Boutique Hotels in Britain. This list, which shows hotels in no particular order yet, has been released in advance of an awards ceremony which is set to take place later this month.
As well as announcing the rankings chosen by a panel made up of industry experts, the ceremony in Buckinghamshire on Tuesday, November 22, will see special awards handed out, including Unique Experience, Service, Food and Drink and Highest New Entry.
The aim of this list, organised by trade newspaper The Morning Advertiser, is: "to provide a source to recognise the best boutique hotels in UK and to help people discover these unique and diverse places to stay."
The Morning advertiser's sister site, Big Hospitality, reports that the awards honour the amazing hotels which host guests across Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and the winners are chosen based on the quality of style, decor, food and drink, service and functionality - which includes how venues work with the location in which the hotel is based to provide guests with a unique and memorable experience.
A boutique hotel is, as defined by Oxford Languages, is: "a small stylish hotel, typically one situated in a fashionable urban location" -and Narberth's The Grove is exactly that.
This recognition for The Grove isn't its first this year, either. In July, the luxury hotel won Independent Hotel of the Year at this year's Catey awards. These awards celebrates the best establishments in the country, and the strongest performers in the hospitality industry across the UK.
At the AA Hospitality Awards 2022, it also achieved five Red Stars for the hotel, four Rosettes for its Fernery Restaurant and won Wine List of the Year for Wales. It is now one of just 12 hotels in the UK to hold such accolades. And it is no surprise as to why this gorgeous coastal hotel is receving all these nods.
Just a 15-minute drive from the Pembrokeshire coast, The Grove is nestled within 26 acres of grounds that are gloriously made up of woodland, well-kept lawns and gardens. It is set on a sprawling country house estate, whose hotel is steeped in history - parts of the building date back to the 15th century with its earliest records showing it was once owned by the bailiff of Tenby who would have lived in the 'longhouse' with his family.
Made up of 26 rooms in total, guests can stay in the main building as well as cottages dotted around the grounds. Rooms vary in decor with some sporting a more traditional look while other have something a little more modern. It also has two restaurants on site. The Fernery, which offers fine dining and is award-winning, and the Artisan Rooms - more used for breakfast, lunch and dinner but equally as gorgeous. Ingredients for which come largely from the hotel gardens.
