It’s the show that everyone is talking about at the moment. Love Island has returned to TV screens and a fresh batch of Islanders have begun to settle down in the villa. The ITV2 dating show, which has been running since 2015, has notably featured a huge array of personalities and has been somewhat of a launch pad for many careers.
Following an appearance in Love Island, there are a number of different routes that you could take your career. Firstly, spending eight weeks with your every move monitored by cameras, could easily convince you to step away from the public eye and return to your life of privacy. On the other hand, if you loved the experience, perhaps a career in the spotlight is for you. That’s the mentality that some of the people on this list took.
Keep reading to find out more about some of Love Island’s greatest success stories. You will, no doubt, recognise some of the names on this list. Don’t forget to comment below if you are shocked at where these Islanders have ended up.

Maura Higgins
Ever since Irish Maura entered the villa in 2019, viewers immediately fell in love with her. The TV personality, who previously spent time working as a ring girl for professional boxers, had a general 'no f***s given' attitude to men.
Maura finished the show in fourth place with Curtis Pritchard. The pair had a somewhat whirlwind romance in the villa and only really pursued a relationship at the end of the series. Following the end of the series, their relationship floundered and Maura has since dated Merlin star Bradley James, Love Island co-star Chris Taylor and Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice.
Love Island proved to be a great career move for Maura as since 2019, she has been involved in the world of fashion (launching a line with Ann Summers) and made numerous TV appearances, including ITV's Dancing On Ice She is due to appear on the latest series of Cooking with the Stars.
Curtis Pritchard
Speaking of Curtis, he has had a successful career in his own right. The 2019 Islander, who is the brother of Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard, has also had several TV appearances since his time on the ITV show.
Most notably, in February 2021, Curtis joined his brother AJ in a guest appearance on Hollyoaks. The guest stint was a clear indicator that acting was not the right path for Curtis, whose role was panned on social media and by critics. Both Curtis and AJ’s performances were slammed as “terrible”. He has continued to dance and also featured on The Greatest Dancer and Strictly Come Dancing's American cousin, Dancing with the Stars.
Kem Cetinay
Kem won Love Island with partner Amber Davies in 2017. During his time in the villa, he developed a strong 'bromance' with fellow Islander Chris Hughes. Since then, the pair have starred in multiple formats together and continue to work together to this day.
Now, a presenter in his own right, Kem has made appearances on ITV’s This Morning, as well as Dancing on Ice. Aside from television, Kem is also the co-founder of the restaurant, Array, in Essex.
Amber Davies
Welsh Islander, Amber Davies, has had a very successful career since winning the series with Kem. Although they are no longer an item, Amber has carved out a successful career in acting.
The Love Island winner, who performed at Cirque Le Soir as a dancer before the show, quickly went back to her theatrical roots. Prior to the pandemic, Amber bagged a lead role in Dolly Parton's hit West End musical 9 to 5 and also starred alongside Olympian Louis Smith in Bring It On the Musical Tour. She has also appeared in other TV programmes such as All Together Now, And They're Off and CBBC's Almost Never.
Olivia Attwood
Another alumni of the 2017 series of Love Island, Olivia Attwood was the love interest of Chris Hughes in the series. Choosing to stay in TV once her stint on the show was over, Olivia has made appearances on Celebs Go Dating, The Only Way is Essex and even starred in her own reality series on ITVBe.
In 2021, it was confirmed that Olivia is set to present a series with ITV called Getting Filthy Rich. The series will explore the online selling of sexual content on OnlyFans. Whilst Olivia is no longer with Love Island co-star Chris Hughes, she is now engaged to footballer Bradley Dack.
Dani Dyer
You’ll have a hard time forgetting Dani Dyer’s strong East London accent in the villa. Dani partnered with Jack Fincham in series four of Love Island. The pair remained with each other throughout the entirety of the competition but when the cameras stopped rolling, unfortunately they split up.
Dani, the daughter of EastEnders’ Danny Dyer, has had a successful career outside of Love Island. She has since made appearances on Survival of the Fittest, EastEnders and even co-hosted MTV’s True Love or True Lies. The TV personality and actress has also released her own fashion range.
Amy Hart
Poor Amy… She didn’t have the best time in the villa when Curtis Pritchard broke her heart in the fifth series. In one of the most painful quotes of the series, Amy told Curtis: “I was coming back here to tell you that I loved you.” The words still bring a tear to our eye to this day.
Since then, Amy’s heartbreak hasn’t got her down though. She has continued to make regular TV appearances and maintains an active presence on social media.
Tommy Fury and Molly-May Hague
These two come as somewhat of a package deal. Boxer Tommy and social media influencer Molly-Mae appeared on the fifth series of Love Island. Since then, the pair remain together and have been very busy.
Molly-Mae now holds the role of Creative Director at PrettyLittleThing and reportedly signed a £500,000 contract with the company in 2021. Professional boxer Tommy has stuck to what he knows and alongside a prosperous career in social media, has kept his foot in the ring.
Fame and fortune hasn’t kept controversy from the door of the couple though. In December 2021, Molly-Mae was criticised for comments she made over poverty and wealth inequality. Yikes!
Camilla Thurlow
Camilla warmed the public’s hearts on the 2017 series of Love Island. Her openness and vulnerability proved popular, with the public voting her in second place. Aside from occasional TV appearances, she is an activist and passionate about raising awareness of the effect conflict has on civilian lives, both during and after it takes place.
Within days of leaving the Love Island villa, Camilla arranged a visit to Thessaloniki – putting her background in humanitarian work and new-found public platform to good use.
Camilla, who found love with Jamie Jewitt in the villa, is now married to him and the pair have just welcomed their second child.
Shaughna Phillips
Fiery Shaughna entertained viewers with her no-nonsense approach to life in the villa. The Democratic Services Officer made headlines with her on/off romance with scaffolder Callum, who eventually had his eyes turned in Casa Amor. Despite being booted from the villa two weeks before the final, Shaughna had some cracking one-liners on Love Island. One of our favourites was: “I came to Love Island to find a boyfriend, not a son.”
Since leaving the island, Shaughna has kept her personal life relatively under-the-radar but still maintains an active social-media presence. She is now managed by one of the UK’s leading talent agencies - Off Limits Entertainment, who also represent the stars of The Only Way is Essex among others.
Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran
These two were the talk of the town in last year’s Love Island. Good news for fans of the show - they’re still together. Shortly after the show ended, the pair moved in together and have continued to keep fans updated with their relationship on social media.
During their time in the villa, Chloe and Toby were more off and on than a light switch. Footballer Toby had his eyes turned by multiple girls, leaving poor Chloe with her head in a spin. Despite their tumultuous relationship, the pair finished in second. Both are now fashion ambassadors, with Chloe representing for JD Sports and Toby for Boohoo Man.
Megan Barton-Hanson
A standout of Love Island series four, Megan was somewhat of an agent of chaos in the villa. She coupled up with the likes of Eyal, Alex and Wes but the star hasn’t maintained relationships with any of them after the show ended.
Megan has, however, had a colourful career. The star now hosts her own podcast, ‘You Come First’ on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. She has continued to model and regularly posts raunchy pictures on social media. It hasn’t been all positive though - Earlier this year, the 28-year-old revealed her struggles with body image during a candid conversation on her Instagram. This prompted many fans to share their own struggles.
