The London Eye at 25: The 'temporary' big wheel that keeps on turning

The first passengers boarding the London Eye on Sunday morning can be excused for treating themselves to the £62 a head “sip in the sky” champagne experience package - despite the 10am start.

Because when they reach the top of their half hour revolution and look down from 443 ft on that extraordinary vista that on a good day extends to Windsor Castle they will rightly be able to celebrate.
