There's a real tangible ethos on sustainability and responsible fishing at Lobster and MôR, with all lobster pot caught on the 'Martha Rose' and swiftly sold to hungry customers. Sandwiches are also sold in compostable veg ware packaging too.
A visit to this deli is a must when exploring Pembrokeshire. Here, local produce blends seamlessly with nautical gifts, picnic paraphernalia and tasty deli items.
Freshly caught, whole lobster can also be purchased alongside Caws Cenarth cheese, ice cream and their locally distilled Tir and Môr gin.
What can you find in Lobster and MôR
Lobster and MôR have become a popular addition to Little Haven and people travel for miles to sample their delicious lobster rolls and salmon sandwiches.
Owner Danny Curtis has been in the shellfish game for 16 years, after starting DASH Shellfish in 2006, supplying shellfish to Michelin star restaurants throughout the UK.
Primarily a wholesale supplier of shellfish, he started to notice a lot of public interest in his seafood. "This naturally gave me drive to find an outlet to supply the local demand, that alone was the reason for me opening the shop," said Danny.
"Crab sandwiches and lobster rolls were the staples from the get-go and I like to believe we’ve built a reputation for having super fresh local shellfish, at a fair price."
Once Danny got the keys to the shop and started knocking some walls down, it soon became clear how large the space was and he had to think carefully about how to fill it.
"There's no way shellfish alone could fill the shelves," he explains, "that’s where the idea of filling it with local craft and art came from. Plus my partner owns Swag and Tassel, designing and making handbags and accessories. So she pushed me on that front."
Danny saw that they were selling a lot of Welsh brands and decided to have a go at creating a Welsh concept gin to sell - Tir a Mor Gin, distilled in the nearby Welsh Wind Distillery and available for purchase in-store and online.
What about the lobster rolls?
The main sell here has to be the freshly prepared, lobster pot caught lobster rolls. Feast on a fresh roll slathered with Welsh seaweed butter and packed with juicy lobster meat.
If you fancy a whole lobster to take home, you can select a catch of the day lobster from the rather upscale lobster pool, located towards the back of the deli.
Fresh crab meat sandwiches and smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches are also available and are best paired with their takeaway coffee, or if you're feeling naughty, a bottle of their seaweed and spice gin.
It's worth visiting this locally owned business when you are out and about in Pembrokeshire and fancy eating a crab sandwich on the beach, listening to the sounds of the breaking waves. Utter bliss. To sign up for more food and drink news from WalesOnline, click here
