The little-known Scottish island named one of the most beautiful UK locations people should visit before summer ends

A little-known Scottish island just off the coast of Argyll has been named one of the most beautiful hidden gems in the UK people should visit before summer ends. Sandwiched between the west coast and the Isle of Mull, Kerrera is just four miles long and a mile wide.

Home to a population of around 40 people, it offers plenty for any visitor looking for their own little slice of wildness – and that's according to holiday home park operator, Park Leisure , who have just named it one of the top 10 hidden gems people should be desperate to visit before the summer ends.

Analysing data from TripAdvisor on locations the site has deemed has a ‘hidden gem’ as well as the number of social media hashtags to ensure each place has remained a well-kept secret, the team have pulled together their top list and Kerrera, along with the slightly better known Sandalwood Bay were the only Scots locations to make the list.
