The little-known Ring doorbell Christmas settings to you in the festive spirit

With the festive spirit setting in across many households, some may want to share their Christmas joy with visitors.

And they can do just that with their Ring doorbell, as it offers a range of festive settings. The device allows homeowners to see who is ringing their doorbell when they aren't in.

For many it offers a little bit of extra security, but it can also provide some fun alongside being practical, writes the Mirror.

If you have the device and app installed, you can set up the doorbell to ring a festive chime and share custom messages with visitors.

One such option tells the person who has rang the bell: "Merry Christmas!... We’re a little, wrapped up at the moment. Leave a message."

Here's how to set up your Ring doorbell to share festive chime

Firstly you'll need to have the Ring app installed, and once you do so you will be able to go into audio settings for your doorbell and select a new chime.

You'll see some of the Christmas options available, which includes Festive Ding Dong and Holiday Jingle.

Then all you have to do is select your favourite Christmas option and hit save changes.

The same goes for messages, which you can edit by selecting a new option under 'Quick Replies.'

If that's not Christmassy enough, there's more - although it will cost you £14.99 - as Ring Doorbell owners can purchase interchangeable holiday faceplates that snap on over the top of your device.
