As we approach the launch of WWE 2K26, the franchise finds itself at a crossroads regarding its historical representation. The ProPlay technology has revolutionized how modern stars, such as Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, move; however, the Legends roster often feels like it’s treated as a secondary thought. For the next game to truly be a generational leap, the developers need to focus on the era-defining icons who have been missing from the digital stage.
When we talk about Legends, we aren’t talking about just your standard Hall of Fame headliners, but also the gritty, mid-card legends. Those whose unique move sets would thrive under the current animation engine. From the high-flying innovators of the 2000s to the brutal enforcers of the 80s, the community is rooting for a roster that finally gives recognition to all the stars. Tag along as we take a look at the legends we want back in 2K26.
The Hardy Boyz

Matt and Jeff Hardy made their return to NXT in late 2025, while still holding the TNA Tag Team gold, so their inclusion in 2K26 would be a historic milestone. These two represent the first major Forbidden Door entry for the 2K series. If they are to be included, it would allow for authentic TLC matches against modern teams like the Creed Brothers or the Usos.
Their inclusion would also allow 2K to open the door to future TNA collaboration. However, it’s likely not going to happen. If it does, the nostalgia of seeing their original Team Xtreme gear in modern 4K graphics would increase pre-orders significantly.
Viscera

Adding back Big Daddy V would add a dominant 500-pound powerhouse to the game and would also serve as a nod to the Ministry of Darkness. Viscera has long been a community request, and players have been making makeshift Ministry of Darkness members to complete the stable for years now. Community creations are great, but the fact that he hasn’t been in the games for more than a decade now is quite a shame.
Viscera’s inclusion would add an iconic super Heavyweight to the roster. His iconic moves, ike the Big Daddy V Elbow Drop, deserve to be replicated in the modern era. On top of that, this inclusion will make hardcore Attitude Era fans ecstatic. Fortunately, it’s looking likely that he’ll make an appearance, as he was added to the mobile WWE Champions game recently.
The Road Warriors

Yet another iconic tag team duo that has been absent from the games because of licensing and legal hurdles for years. Their absence has been a major point of frustration for fans of the ’80s and ’90s. The addition of the Road Warriors would immediately elevate the Tag Team division, which often feels like an afterthought compared to singles legends. With themselves, they bring the Doomsday Device, arguably the most legendary tag finisher ever.
As far as fan reactions go, this one would generate a lot of buzz with the right marketing. This duo is viewed as the final boss of tag team wrestling, and viewing them in their spiked shoulder pads under the new lighting engine would surely satisfy the Legends crowd. It would also satisfy those who have felt the 80s era has been underrepresented lately.
Ivory

Although the women’s roster has grown rapidly in recent years, the Legends side continues to be inconsistent, particularly when covering the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. As a three-time WWE Women’s Champion and a Hall of Famer, Ivory is an essential inclusion for WWE 2K26.
In addition, as the immutable leader of the Right to Censor faction, her offensive in-ring style is needed if the franchise wants to fix the imbalance in the women’s roster. On top of that, her addition would unlock a host of potential storylines in Universe mode; imagine the fight between Ivory against other female Legends like Lita or Mickie James. Fortunately, Ivory did make an appearance at WWE Evolution recently, and if she holds a Legends contract, a DLC appearance is possible.
Sabu

The “Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal” deathmatch icon Sabu needs to be in WWE 2K26. Following his recent passing, including this ECW legend would be the ultimate tribute to a man who redefined what it means to be extreme. Of course, he was never once for traditional accolades, as he once famously showed little interest in a WWE Hall of Fame Induction. At the very least, though, he deserves a digital tribute in the upcoming game.
Primarily known for his chaotic tenure in ECW, Sabu’s impact on the industry is immeasurable. His innovative use of chairs as springboards and his fearless high-flying style would be incredible to witness through the modern engine. He marched to the drum of his own beat in real life, but his presence in the game will bridge a gap in hardcore wrestling history.
