The Leeds restaurant voted top spot for Mother's Day lunch

Mother's Day is this weekend so you might be looking at the best places to take mum for a meal.

OpenTable released their list of 100 top-rated spots for lunch and brunch this Mothering Sunday, based on over one million diner reviews. One Leeds restaurant made the list, offering a traditional experience with a modern menu.

Found in Horsforth, Forde offers a different sort of menu, with dishes made for someone with an adventurous taste. The menu includes a range of small plates and a three-course Sunday Lunch.

Owned and run by Matt Healy, from MasterChef: The Professionals, he put a stamp on the Leeds restaurant scene which gained a Michelin Plate in 2020 and a spot in The Good Food Guide.

Two-Michelin-starred judge of MasterChef Marcus Wareing famously described Matt’s sauces as “some of the best he had ever tasted”.

The Sunday lunch menu includes dishes such as truffle soup, a 12-hour roasted sirloin or chicken, and a cheese board. The menu changes weekly and they offer deals on two or three-course choices.

With over a dozen small plates, you could give mum a day of sharing. The small plates menu has a range of dishes including Hasselback potatoes, wild mushrooms, roasted hake and Bavette steak.

It's an affordable menu, dishes range from as little as £7 up to £16. The lunch deal for three courses is £30 and for two it's £25.

Forde also offers an extensive wine list, each paired to go with whatever you choose from the menu.
