Before the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, I long feared that Nintendo had given up on amiibo, but the latest Nintendo Direct showcases have undoubtedly proven me wrong.
The latest Direct revealed three new amiibo for Kirby Air Riders based on Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Chef Kawasaki, all playable characters in the upcoming Switch 2 game. So far, only Meta Knight and his Shadow Star is available to pre-order from $49.99 at Best Buy out of the newly announced Switch 2 accessories, but it's not all doom and gloom. Right now, you can still pre-order the first two Kirby Air Rider amiibo, Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 4 Beyond figures across US and UK retailers, if you're eager to complete your collection.
So you can do just that, I've gathered every single newly announced Switch 2 amiibo and where you can pre-order them down below. That way, you can easily upgrade your collection and avoid giving any cheeky resellers your hard-earned cash if they sell out later down the line. Just be warned, when combined, all of these new Nintendo NFC-enabled collectibles don't come cheap.

Will these new amiibo work on the Nintendo Switch?
Both Metroid Prime 4 Beyond and the Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 Switch collection are launching on the original handheld, so will be compatible with the older Nintendo Switch.
However, Kirby Air Riders is exclusively launching on the Switch 2, and so you can only use the Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee amiibos to unlock content on the Switch 2.
Like most figures (and cards) in the amiibo series, it's very likely that you will be able to use all of them on multiple games. However, you can only unlock the specific content for each in their respective releases. For example, the Princess Rosalina amiibo will only unlock a 1-Up Mushroom in the Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 Switch collection.
