The first game of the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets doubleheader is over, and after so much chaos on Monday, the Mets emerged victorious, clinching one of the two National League Wild Card spots that were up for grabs starting the day.
So what happens now in Game 2? Good question! Let’s review:
1. The Mets have clinched a Wild Card spot no matter what.
2. If the Braves win Game 2, they are the second Wild Card team and the Diamondbacks are eliminated. The Braves would play the Padres, and the Mets would take on the Brewers.
3. If the Braves lose Game 2, the Diamondbacks are the third Wild Card team. The Braves would then be eliminated, and the Mets would play the Padres. Arizona would play the Brewers.
That’s it. DRAMA!
