Thursday was the hottest day of the year so far in Wales with 26.2°C recorded in the centre of Cardiff, and it looks like it is going to be even warmer on Friday. Forecasters in Wales are predicting highs of 28°C today, with parts England expected to sizzle in temperatures of 34°C as the hot spell of weather reaches its peak.
While England and Wales will bask in the heat on Friday, it will be cooler in Northern Ireland and Scotland which will both be affected by rain. BBC Wales forecaster Sabrina Lee says the highest temperatures in Wales on Friday are expected in Monmouthshire, Cardiff and Flintshire.
She said: "The heat and the humidity is very much the talking point today. For the west coast temperatures will be fairly close to average, but track further inland, and temperatures will be around five or more degrees above average.
