Christopher Paul Cockayne
Known to many as Paul, Christopher Paul Cockayne died peacefully in hospital surrounded by his family on Saturday 7th May 2023 aged 80 years. Beloved husband to wife Rae, much loved father of Raymond, Thomas and Christopher and dearly loved by grandchildren George and Aurora. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We are sad to announce the death of Beryl Catherine Coker who passed away on Saturday 13th May 2023. Beryl was the beloved wife of Len Coker, mother to Sandra and Alun and a devoted grandmother. Tom (Thomas Edward) Cooper
Peacefully on Wednesday May 10th 2023, at home in Stourport on Seven with family around him, aged 87 years. Formerly of Adamsdown, Splott, and Penylan, Cardiff, and latterly Belmont, Hereford. Devoted and much loved husband to Shirley. Proud and loving father of Michele and Stephen, and respected and loved father in law to Don and Amanda. Adored Bampy of James, Bethan, Carla, Chad, Manon, and Niamh; and treasured Y Hen Tadcu to Dontay, Destiney, Mya, and Eska. Margaret Mary Ings (nee Evans)
(nee Evans) Mary, born on 9th April 1936 in Pencader, Carmarthenshire, passed away peacefully on 7th May 2023 at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, aged 87. Mary was much loved by her late husband Ken, and she will be greatly missed by her sons, Andrew and Michael, daughters-in-law Zhanar and Sylvia, and grandchildren Siôn, Daniel, Manon and Erin. The family would like to thank the staff of Lakeside Wing, University Hospital of Wales, and all relatives and friends for their kindness during Mary's illness and sympathies during our bereavement. A service of remembrance will take place in the Wenallt Chapel at Thornhill Crematorium on 2nd June 2023 at 2:45pm. John Lister
MBE It is with great sadness that the family of John Lister announce his peaceful passing at Marie Curie Hospital, Penarth on 6th May 2023, aged 81. Devoted and beloved husband of Mary, much loved stepfather of Sharon and Mark and his wife Alison, proud grandfather of Claire, Dorothy and Morgan and brother of Judy and Martyn. John was a remarkable and inspiring man. As well as a successful businessman, he was an outstanding athlete and one of Britain and Europe's finest athletics administrators and innovators for over 50 years. He held governing positions in Cardiff AAC, British Athletics and European Athletics as well as achieving 12 Welsh athletics titles. He will be very much missed by his family, friends and local, national and international athletics. O'SULLIVAN Walter We are sad to announce that Walter O'Sullivan has died peacefully at the age of 91, on May 4th 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Llandough Hospital. Walter, famously known as Spud, Owner of Spud's Place Cafe, Mill Lane, Cardiff, was well known for his intellectual chats and debates, his big bite breakfast and his Curry in a hurry but will be remembered for so much more.
