We’re pretty sure there will be at least one big 2023 NFL Draft trade with the Chicago Bears possibly looking to unload the No. 1 pick to a team desperate for a quarterback, which would be the right move.
That’s what our Christian D’Andrea had in his latest mock draft — and actually, he had the Bears trade down twice!
But who else could trade up and down for quarterbacks (or others)?
In Mel Kiper’s latest ESPN mock draft, he’s got the Houston Texans dealing up to No. 1 and taking Bryce Young (whose height has been discussed a lot this week) out of Alabama.
Then? Yep, he’s got the Colts trading up with the Bears to take Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud. Then? The Panthers move up to No. 5 to take Kentucky’s Will Levis. Here’s what he had to say about that:
Here we go with trade No. 3 in this mock draft. Carolina is lurking in the top 10. It has the draft assets — the No. 9 overall pick, along with extra second-, third- and fifth-round picks from the Christian McCaffrey trade — to move up to get a passer. It just needs a trade partner. In this scenario, it could send that entire package (and potentially more) to move up four spots with Seattle. Really, the Panthers’ situation is not dissimilar from the Colts’, as they have struck out on recent trades (Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield) to get the quarterback position fixed. General manager Scott Fitterer and new coach Frank Reich have to get this right.
There you go. And don’t forget to check out For The Win’s latest NFL mock draft.
