Skywatchers have one last lunar spectacle to enjoy in 2025. Tonight, the final supermoon of the year will illuminate the night, offering a rare and stunning celestial display.
A supermoon occurs when a full moon coincides with the moon’s closest approach to Earth, known as perigee. This makes the moon appear up to 14 per cent larger and 30 per cent brighter than a typical full moon, casting an unusually vivid glow across the night sky.
