Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest today at the grand age of 96 and after more than 70 years of dedicated public service. Over the course of her reign, 15 Prime Ministers served the nation, from Sir Winston Churchill in the 1950s up until Liz Truss this year.
It was meeting the current Prime Minister that was the Queen's last royal engagement before she died. The pair met at Balmoral Castle in Scotland - breaking with the tradition of meeting in Buckingham Palace due to the Queen's mobility issues - on September 6 and the Queen formally asked Mrs Truss to form a new government and officially appointed her as the Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury.
