The interview comes just before the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, in which Ramsey was nominated for best young actor/actress for the film Catherine Called Birdy. Bella told the Times, that it was pleasing to be nominated for a non-gender-specific category, in what is becoming an ever increasingly popular choice for award ceremonies.
When it comes to pronouns such as she/her or he/him, gender fluid Bella said they would check "nonbinary" if it's an option on a form. Bella added: "I'm very much just a person, being gendered isn't something that I particularly like, but in terms of pronouns, I really couldn't care less."
What gender fluid means
According to Harvard University, gender fluidity refers to change over time in a person's gender expression or gender identity, or both. That change might be in expression, but not identity, or in identity, but not expression. Put simply, a gender fluid individual is a person whose gender identity is not fixed.
Ramsey's latest project, a TV adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game The Last Of Us, is now airing exclusively on Sky Atlantic and NOW. It sees Bella and former Game of Thrones colleague Pedro Pascal star in a post apocalyptic land where they are terrorized by 'mutants' called the Infected.
Previously, the Nottingham performer also led the 2017 TV adaptation of The Worst Witch books, as titular character Mildred Hubble. For performances over 40 episodes, Bella won the Young Performer award at the 2019 British Academy Children's Awards.
Currently, Bella is playing the lead character of Netflix series Hilda, winning a BAFTA. The series also utilises Bella's singing talent and has seen the release of a debut song The Life of Hilda.
