The Last of Us filming has been paused. Viewers are speculating as to why

  • The season, which began production on 2 March and is expected to conclude on 27 November, is largely filmed in British Columbia, Canada.
  • Fans speculate the break is due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as Vancouver , a host city, may require filming locations like stadiums.
  • The third season is set to focus on the character Abby, closely following the narrative of the second half of "The Last of Us Part II" video game.
  • While HBO president Casey Bloys suggested the third season might be the last, showrunner Craig Mazin indicated the story would likely require a fourth season to be completed.
