Arsenal look set to beat rivals Chelsea and Tottenham to the signing of Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus this summer, according to reports. That is despite a fear that the Gunners wouldn’t be able to attract players over their London counterparts in the transfer market.
That is because the side missed out on Champions League football, having to settle for a return to the Europa League. The top European competition would allow for larger income and the idea of attracting high-profile players.
However, that hasn’t been the key factor behind Jesus’ move, who only had one year remaining on his contract at Manchester City. According to Fabrizio Romano, both Mikel Arteta and Edu were driving forces behind the Brazilian’s transfer.
