The Kardashians have had a complex relationship with Dolce & Gabbana, but any drama was brushed aside ahead of Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding.
The 43-year-old reality star exchanged vows with drummer Travis Barker in a sumptuous wedding in Portofino, Italy, on Sunday, and the newlyweds - as well as their close family and friends - were dressed head to toe in creations by the Italian design duo.
Kourtney and Travis reportedly signed a multi-million sponsorship deal with Dolce & Gabbana, and in exchange for the huge amount of publicity their eagerly-awaited nuptials would bring, the designers would dress the wedding party.
Mother-of-the-bride Kris Jenner wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana creation, as did sisters Khloe and Kim Kardashian, and Kourtney’s three children - Mason, Penelope and Reign.
Kylie and Kendall Jenner were also dressed by the designers, and fans were stunned by the amount of Dolce & Gabbana creations that were being showcased during the opulent wedding weekend.
Travis was even spotted greeting the designers as they arrived for the wedding weekend, with Dolce & Gabbana underwear on show above his trousers.
The family have been long-time fans of the design duo, with Khloe Kardashian naming her late pet dog Gabbana, while Kylie had a pet chihuahua called Dolce.
However, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have had a tumultuous relationship with the most famous family in the world, and were previously caught up in a social media spat.
Fashion account Diet Prada called out Stefano for his comment on a picture of Kris, Kendall, Kylie and Kim, in May 2018.
“The most cheap people in the world,” he wrote.
And in 2019, Kim came under fire for sharing a selection of jackets that had been gifted to her by the designers.
Posting on her Instagram Stories, she wrote: “So, I came home to these amazing, huge Dolce & Gabbana boxes.”
But she was put under pressure to remove the post after her fans reminded her of controversial comments made by the designers regarding IVF treatment.
In March 2015, Domenico had said children who were born through IVF were 'synthetic’ and ‘chemical offsprings in a rented uterus’.
He also said that he and Stefano, a former couple, 'oppose gay adoption'.
Kim has welcomed two children - daughter Chicago and son Psalm - via surrogate, while Kourtney is documenting her infertility struggles on the new series of The Kardashians.
