West Ham United boss David Moyes admits summer signing Flynn Downes has given him more to think about after impressing against Anderlecht on Thursday night.
On just his second start since signing for the Hammers following his move from Swansea City in the summer, Downes played a starring role in the heart of midfield as Gianluca Scamacca’s fifth goal of the season in all competitions moved the Hammers five points clear at the top of Group B in the Europa Conference League.
Downes has been among the summer signings with less game time so far this season, compared to Thilo Kehrer, Scamacca and others, with the midfielder taking time to adjust.
