Japanese-style souffle pancakes are about to hit Manchester. Canadian chain Fuwa Fuwa is opening a new spot on Whitworth Street, introducing the city to the fluffy, puffed up treats.
And when it opens for business tomorrow (October 8), it will be giving away 100 free drinks to its first 100 customers. All those heading through the door will also be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 pancake voucher.
“Fuwa Fuwa is all about spreading happiness through food and we are thrilled to bring our signature dishes, drinks, and fluffy pancakes to Manchester as our first store in the UK” said Benson Lau, Business Development Director of Fuwa Fuwa Pancakes. “We are so excited to finally be able to take food lovers in Manchester on this sweet journey and see the unique dining experience we are famous for flourish here.”
Each pancake is made to order from whipped egg whites, and then cooked at low temperature to create a ‘cloud-like’ texture. They’re then laden with toppings like tiramisu cream, raspberry and caramelised bananas, macha and various others syrups, creams and house sauces.
Originating in Toronto, it will be the first branch in the UK, with others across Canada, Asia and soon to be the US too. The Manchester branch, the 10th in all, will be at Unit B302 in the Carding Building on Whitworth St.
