The incredible Jack Harrison statistic that has proven to be a good omen for Leeds United

Leeds United secured their Premier League status with a dramatic stoppage time win over Brentford on Sunday. The Whites remained in the division at the expense of Burnley, who have been relegated to the Championship after their defeat to Newcastle United, despite the fact destiny was in their own hands heading into the season finale.

Leeds were victorious at the Brentford Community Stadium thanks to Raphinha’s goal from the spot and Jack Harrison’s late strike, after Sergi Canos had brought Brentford back level. And Harrison’s goals have become somewhat of a good luck omen since his arrival four years ago.

The 25-year-old has scored in 24 matches during his time at the club, with Leeds going onto lose just one of those – which came in the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool in the Whites’ first game back in the Premier League. This season, Harrison has scored in several crucial matches to match his tally of eight from the previous campaign.

Despite scoring a brace in the 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Crewe Alexandra in August, it took his until January to open his account in the Premier League. He has netted in massive wins over Burnley, West Ham (where he scored his first professional hat-trick), Wolves, Watford and Brentford, while also netting in the draw with Southampton.

In a somewhat frustrating campaign for the Leeds wide-man, he has still managed to deliver an excellent goalscoring return, all be it with significantly less assists. If he is able to produce the quality he has in front of goal on a more consistent basis, then he is only going to get better.
