Getting out of Glasgow during spring and summer is always fun, with many incredible landmarks, lochs and attractions on offer close by.
However, one exciting option combines many of the above with some stunning roads to create a driving route that can easily rival the more famous North Coast 500.
The SWC300 begins on the Ayrshire coast and follows a circular route that is around 300 miles long and takes in the coastline of Dumfries and Galloway and South Ayrshire.

The SW300 suits those looking for a particularly laid-back trip. Along the way, you will see beaches, rolling hills and glens, and plenty of quaint and charming villages and towns.
Among the highlights is The Mull of Galloway, which is Scotland’s most southerly point, where you can expect some one-of-a-kind views. Elsewhere, Caerlaverock Castle and Culzean Castle are also must-sees.
From sweeping vistas of the Galloway Forest Park to the thrilling roads by the sea within view of Ailsa Craig, there's so much to see and do.
Spend your days visiting some of Scotland's most picturesque towns like Moffat and Girvan, grab a wee gin and tonic at Crafty Distillery and enjoy a bit of stargazing in the evening with a trip to the Dark Sky Park.
