Eddie Howe has urged his side to focus on the prospect of facing "world class" Chelsea at St James' Park after a week of highs at St James' Park.
It started with that 4-1 win over Southampton before booking a place in the last 16 of the League Cup by beating Crystal Palace on penalties. And there was also a day of celebration for England trio Kieran Trippier, Nick Pope and Callum Wilson after securing spots in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad.
Now though Newcastle must face up to Chelsea before signing off for the World Cup break. Howe said: "We're hopeful to continue our good form and momentum.

"Graham Potter always gives you problems tactically. They've got world-class players but we have to make sure we continue our excellent intensity levels and the crowd play their part again."
Howe also had time to reflect on the League Cup fourth-round draw which has pitched them with old club AFC Bournemouth. He said: "It’s crazy how things unfold. I was watching it live.
"Yeah, that’s football for you. The draws always spark up games of real interest. Really good to be at home. It’ll be a difficult game."
