The original bar still stands in the building and the quirky nature of the pub makes it a popular spot both for locals and visitors.
It is still run by the Kerr family having been passed down through generations and with no links to a brewery, the owners are able to pick and choose the best drinks to sell.
Canny Man's even counts celebrity chef Rick Stein among its fans. He proclaimed it the "best pub in the world" during one visit, and he'll have seen a few in his time.

What is a Bloody Mary?
Feeling rough but can't get to Edinburgh? You can make your own Bloody Mary at home.
The cocktail was said to have been invented by a Frenchman in the 1920s. Originally called 'a bucket of blood' after its garish colour, the drink is not actually named after Mary I of England with its origins not entirely certain.
As well as the two main ingredients of vodka and tomato juice, other garnishes can include Worcestershire sauce, hot sauces, garlic, herbs, horseradish, celery, olives, pickled vegetables, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, lime juice and celery salt.
